We strive to offer musical
opportunities for students that not only develop the whole child but
most importantly enrich their own faith lives.
Students
participate in musical events throughout the school year including
worship services, concerts, chapel, music festivals and other events.
Grades K-2
Students in grades K-2 receive both vocal and instrumental instruction using a variety of sacred and secular music.
Grades 3-4
Students in grades 3-4 continue to
receive both vocal and instrumental music instruction as well as some
music theory and history. These grades will also begin learning to play the recorder.
Grades 5-8
These students choose to take band &/or choir instruction as part of their electives choice, but it is not required.
- 5th Grade Beginning Band instruments: flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, euphonium or percussion
- 6-8th Grade Band instruments: Beginning Band options plus piccolo, bass clarinet, tenor sax, french horn or tuba
St. Mark choral students will continue to develop their vocal skills by singing multi-part vocal music.
Visual Arts - Lynn Borman
Throughout the year, our campus becomes a colorful and fun display center for our students masterpieces.
Grades K-4
These grades meet once a week for one hour. The students will be exposed to a variety of medias including painting, drawing, ceramics and clay to create visual art.
Grades 5-8
Students can choose to take art as an elective and meet 2,3 or 5 days a week. In Middle School Art, students will experiment with a variety of media to create artwork. Two-dimensional and three-dimensional elements of art: line, shape, space, color, value, texture, and form are studied at this level.
